September 17, 2018 News from the Studio
Happy to be exhibiting 16 small works at the Artists & Architects Salon at 580 North Maple Ave., Ridgewood, NJ from now through December. There is a wine and cheese reception on Tuesday, September 25th from 7:00 - 9:00pm and all are welcome. Having a local business support the arts in their community benefits everyone - a model I wish more would emulate. Hope to see you at the reception!

These 3 paintings reflect my love for bold saturated colors. "The Road Less Traveled" is based on a photo I took driving from the Grand Canyon. There was an epic rain storm, a double rainbow and a glorious cloud formation suspended in the sky. BAM - I knew I had to capture this moment in a painting and challenged myself by eliminating brushstrokes to create a skating rink smooth surface. "Cat in a Sink" is a portrait of a grey tabby done in a pop art style. I love to depict an almost human expression on my animal portraits. "Apples and Blue Bottle" was done while taking a traditional oil painting class. I kept butting heads with my teacher for not painting according to his instruction so I forced myself to do this still life in a classical style (with just a little edge).
