August 30, 2018 News from the Studio
In June, my son and I biked the towpath trail from Hugh Moore Park in Easton, PA to Washington State Historic Park in iconic Bucks County, PA. It was the final leg of our 3 day 130 mile biking adventure and by far the most enjoyable day (no driving rain, no hills and no melting asphalt!). It was with absolute pleasure that we rode single track through tall grasses along the canal on a bluebird day with only the hisses from hidden Canada geese to distract us from the bucolic scenery. It was the first time either of us had ridden this trail but it won't be our last.

Inspired by a recent trip to Bucks County, this painting is all about capturing the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees with just a glimpse of sky peaking through. The bright sun creates contrasting areas of light and shadows and the red bridge offers a choice for the viewer to either continue the journey or remain longer to enjoy the moment.
