With Family Whiting Beach
I grew up in a small NYC apartment where my ‘bedroom’ (really the dining nook I shared with one of my brothers) window faced directly across from the elevated platform of the number 7 train. It’s no wonder that I anxiously awaited August 1st when my Aunts and Uncles would rent a beach bungalow in Manasquan and for an entire month my cousins and I had free rein of all the pleasures of Jersey Shore summers! We bodysurfed the waves, raced to the end of the jetty, fished and crabbed the Manasquan inlet, watched Thursday night fireworks and begged adults to take us to the Point Pleasant boardwalk to play skee-ball at the penny arcade and ride the toboggan. I also made my first art sales selling hand-painted sea shells on the boardwalk!
