In February squeaking in just before the pandemic hit, I was able to hang 57 of myartworks at the Stable Gallery in Ridgewood NJ. It was the first time I could see the full range of my body of work in one place and get direct feedback from the public (including many PeopleSoft/Oracle colleagues I hadn't seen in years!). Thank you to everyone who stopped by and especially to the folks who bought artwork. That is the greatest validation of all!
In April the Healing Arts Foundation of AtlantiCare Hospital awarded me a significant commission to create two 3'x6' panels for the Scheduler's Desk. Being selected over hundreds of artists applicants was a huge boost to my confidence but also nerve wracking because I had just under three months to complete the panels. In hindsight I am glad about the deadline - this past Spring was a very stressful time. Committing to a daily routine was a fantastic antidote and ultimately I was so honored to create artwork that lifts the spirits of hospital workers, patients and their family.
Here is a view of my studio from the street. It is full equipped with a large window to let in natural daylight, a ventilation fan to remove toxic fumes, a kitchenette and bathroom. I even have my old stereo setup so I can vibe to music while I paint. I can't wait until I canhost Open Studio events but until then individuals and small groups are welcome to stop by and I am happy to schedule video sessions
So despite everything 2020 had some major highlights and I am looking forward to even more highlights in 2021!
